• --:-- A Very Happy Summer

  It is my hope that you all have a great summer! These past couple months were out of the ordinary for sure. I am so glad that you did your very best. Grown-ups and kids are probably burned out so it is a great time to relax and enjoy the summer.
  
  That said I have posted some activities on the right hand side of the page to keep those skills sharp. One tab is some Summer activities that you can use. I also posted a lot of great free reading sites in the Links tab. One size does not fit all so when you get some time you can explore. Lexia Core 5 is available all summer and Epic reading can be used until 6/30/20. Instructions are available when you click the links.
  All the video lessons and practice pages will remain on my page for review.
  
  Most of all take some time to recharge the batteries and relax. We will review a lot at the beginning of the school year and keep you posted on Title 1 for next year. You did a great job under very difficult circumstances. We will do our best to get back on track next school year. I will be checking my email throughout the summer so if you have any questions or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out. Stay safe, have fun, and be kind.

• --:-- First Grade Decodable Passage 4/20/20

  Read The Backyard Birthday Bash. This is good practice to reinforce vowel teams and R-Controlled vowels in context. Practice fluency together. An adult can read one line and the student can read one line to model good reading. Have fun with it. Talk about Birthday parties and what they like about. ***Just a reminder if you are not able to load video from front page, you are able to try in the tab "Video Lessons.***

  Read "The Black Crow". Practice reading fluently and focusing on the vowel teams and r-controlled vowels in the passage. Read it the best you can. Be great. The passage can be found in the first grade tab.

  Read The Starfish and The Shark for fluency and phonics practice. You can find a copy of the text in the first grade class in assignments. If you have trouble see this video, check the video lessons tab on this page. Keep shining and email me a picture of The Starfish and The Shark.
